چکیده

background: methionine has been suggested as the firstlimitingamino acid for milk production in ruminants. it is importanthow to increase milk protein yield and milk fat in dairy ruminants.objectives: this study was set to investigate the effect of rumenprotected methionine (rpmet) on milk composition of lactatingcashmere rayeni goats. methods: 40 healthy singletoncashmere rayeni goats about 3 to 4 years of age, at the first day oflactation, were randomly divided into 2 equal control andexperimental groups. the experimental group was supplementedwith 5 gr/day rpmet for 60 days. milk samples of 2 groups weretaken on 30th and 60th days of the study. milk protein, milk fat, milklactose, and milk solids-not-fat (snf) were determined usingautomatic analyzer. the results were statistically evaluated withspss. results: the supplementation with rpmet did not effectall of the above mentioned parameters during the 60 days of theexperiment (p>0.05), except for the milk fat percentage of theexperimental group which showed significant increase after 60days (p

Effect of Supplementing Rumen-protected Methionine on Serum Biochemistry of Iranian Rayeni Cashmere Goat

Objective: This study was set to investigate whether the administration of ruminally protected methionine as a supplement on lactating goats could have been some toxic effects on serum biochemistry. Methods: Thirty adult (3-4 years old) female Rayeni goats were randomly divided into two groups as follow: control and treatment groups each contain thirty goats. Goats in both groups were fed on th...

Effect of feeding different sources of rumen-protected methionine on milk production and N-utilization in lactating dairy cows.

Objectives of this study were to quantify production responses of lactating dairy cows to supplying absorbable Met as isopropyl-2-hydroxy-4-(methylthio)-butanoic acid (HMBi), or rumen-protected Met (RPM, Smartamine M; Adisseo, Alpharetta, GA) fed with or without 2-hydroxy-4-(methylthio)-butanoic acid (HMB), and to determine whether Met supplementation will allow the feeding of reduced dietary c...

Effect of supplementing rumen-protected methionine on production and nitrogen excretion in lactating dairy cows.

Two 4 x 4 Latin square trials (4-wk periods; 16 wk total) were conducted to see whether supplementing rumen-protected Met (RPM; fed as Mepron) would allow feeding less crude protein (CP), thereby reducing urinary N excretion, but without losing production. In trial 1, 24 Holsteins were fed 4 diets as total mixed rations containing [dry matter (DM) basis]: 18.6% CP and 0 g of RPM/d; 17.3% CP and...

Effect of alfalfa silage storage structure and rumen-protected methionine on production in lactating dairy cows.

The objective of this study was to determine whether production and nutrient utilization differed when lactating cows were fed diets based on 1 of 3 sources of alfalfa silage (AS) and whether performance was altered by feeding rumen-protected Met (RPM; fed as Mepron). Thirty-six lactating Holstein cows were blocked by parity and days in milk, then assigned to a randomized complete block design ...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
